Clicks:110 Recently, Shandong Hualu Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. achieved another major breakthrough in extreme-condition equipment manufacturing. The company's independently developed WS11KY-180×3500 large three-roller plate rolling machine was successfully delivered to the Qinghai Golmud Nanshankou Pumped Storage Power Station, a project constructed by the China Water Resources and Hydropower Fourth Engineering Bureau.
This delivery marks a significant milestone in Hualu's capability to provide high-end forming equipment for high-altitude, heavy-duty engineering projects.
The Golmud Nanshankou Pumped Storage Power Station is a key national construction project under the "14th Five-Year Plan." It holds the distinction of being the first approved pumped storage project in Qinghai Province's Haixi Prefecture.
The project's construction conditions are exceptionally complex, presenting severe technical challenges:
Extreme Altitude: The upper reservoir sits at a staggering altitude of 3,700 meters.
Massive Scale: With a rated water head of 425 meters, it is currently the pumped storage project with the largest installed capacity and regulating reservoir volume under construction in areas above 3,500 meters.
At the project site, the WS11KY-180×3500 plate rolling machine will undertake a critical task: the high-precision rolling of penstocks (pressure steel pipes).
Penstocks are often referred to as the "aorta" of a hydropower station, responsible for channeling water from the upper reservoir to the underground powerhouse. The system involves multiple complex sections, including upper horizontal sections, inclined shafts, lower horizontal sections, and highly complex bifurcation pipes (manifolds).
Bifurcation pipes, known as the "heart of the heart" due to their complex structure and concentrated stress points, demand the strictest rolling craftsmanship and uncompromising quality.
To meet the rigorous demands of high-strength steel plate forming in high-altitude environments, Hualu Equipment engineered the WS11KY-180×3500 all-hydraulic variable center distance three-roller plate rolling machine with cutting-edge capabilities:
Versatile Precision Forming: Highly efficient in shaping pipe sections of various diameters, bends, and complex bifurcation pipes.
Three-Roller Full-Drive Technology: Ensures highly stable transmission and precise operational control.
Micron-Level Synchronization: Equipped with a high-precision displacement sensing system, achieving micron-level synchronization between the lifting of the upper roller and the horizontal movement of the lower rollers.
Integrated End Pre-Bending: Features advanced plate end pre-bending capabilities, allowing for pre-bending and rolling to be completed in a single feeding process. This significantly simplifies the manufacturing workflow and boosts production efficiency.
This successful delivery follows Hualu's previous triumph at the Tibet Zhala Hydropower Station, further cementing the company's ability to conquer high-altitude operations above 3,500 meters.
During the on-site commissioning phase, the Hualu technical team faced severe high-altitude challenges, including hypoxia and extreme weather. Relying on their profound technical expertise and rich field experience, the team systematically optimized the commissioning plan according to the client's specific needs. Their dedication provided a reliable guarantee for the manufacturing of the station's core components, earning high praise from the project stakeholders.
Hualu Equipment continues to drive innovation in heavy-duty forming machinery, empowering global infrastructure and green energy projects with unparalleled precision and reliability.
